Trimming Oriental Grasses with Rope Clamp

I cut back some oriental grasses this weekend and I have included some pictures of the process from beginning to end, showing how helpful “the rope clamp” is.  The best part about the rope clamp in this process is that while you are cutting the grasses, a regular rope tied around the grasses would become loose.  This is due to a lack of tension as the grasses are allowed to move closer together after being cut.  With the rope clamp, you simply stop cutting about half way through, re-tighten the clamp and finish the cut.  For good measure, I also re-tighten the clamp before carrying the grasses to be discarded.  No mess!  ….
